PlantCML Joins New Advisory Board of European Emergency Number Association
Global Organizations Collaborate to Promote
Emergency Communications Throughout Europe
Temecula, CA – PlantCML, North America’s leader in telecommunications solutions for mission-critical call centers, is now an active member of the new European Emergency Number Association (EENA) advisory board. The EENA is a Belgium-based non-profit that promotes the knowledge and efficient use of 112, the European emergency call number similar to the United States’ 911 system.
In September 2007, the EENA received overwhelming political support from the European Parliament for the 112 call number system. This success encouraged the large European citizen-driven lobby to also promote implementation of early warning and alert systems, as well as emergency telecommunications interoperability.
“Already, the EENA’s efforts recognize that widespread, public emergency services are essential in today’s society,” said Tim Fuller, president and CEO of PlantCML. “Creating this advisory board is a critical step towards continent-wide adoption of emergency communication, and PlantCML is privileged to contribute our expertise to the cause. We share a responsibility to perpetuate public safety worldwide, and participating on this board affords us an esteemed opportunity to do so.”
PlantCML joins other world-renowned organizations on the advisory board, including the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the National Emergency Number Association, the organization responsible for the advancement of the United States’ 911 system.
